OUR BIRTHDAY

John Grey

A solar nebula

grabbed a chunk

out of a

molecular cloud

by gravitational collapse

and it spun and flattened

into a circumstellar disk

that, in turn,

formed a planet.

A single cell

came of age

after the ruckus,

asked, “Now what?”
