Homecoming

Hritchita Paul

Whoosh! whispers the wind

Breathing in the pleasant September air

I ask,

“Did Pulchritude ever promise me a sky?”

—  An unguarded sky

If I happen to find an unguarded sky

Along with it, will an unguarded love visit?

A love that won't apologise for being wild and uncanny,

emotion driven and maddening with passion.

That I would finally call it love and not the lust of Summer.

Looking forward to the arrival of this breeze

which carries the songs and letters of soulful autumn,

the fragrant of night jasmines and pearly misty mornings

Sure, it will bring the answers I've been seeking.

Oh, the comfort and reassurance of fall

‘things and thoughts’ settle in a note

Everyone & Everything

        isn't transforming, as they say.

Instead, they are returning to their Rawest forms

When Fall arrives with its placid charm.

The clear waters get covered in yellows and oranges

Reminding me of change

But this change is not strange and different

This is the homecoming.
