Two Pieces

Josh Calvano

In Space

I to sometimes feel like

I'm coated in a black carapace

like the xenomorphs

like there is acid in my blood

dissolving my faith

burning

the holy spirit

left in a cold orbit

around a dying sun

a celestial body long forgotten

by the hands that created it

you think we will ever meet them?

Rip Rider

Crash down immanent!

you are a real cosmonaut kid, one hell of a star child

mission controls voice echoes in your earpiece

you're doing us a real solid one for embarking on this mission to outside of reality

sweat is pouring from your body and your heart is pounding in your chest

pressed back in your seat as the machinery in the shuttle begins to trigger its death rattle of alarms

as you unravel like thread

revealing your scalding hot core

the space craft breaks apart

feel the ripping of reality

as you turn into a cosmic bullet streaking across the heavens
