Children of the Storm #2

Ann Christine Tabaka

There is a storm inside each of us,

it’s been brewing from the start.

It grows stronger with each step forward we take.

We march across a barren landscape.

We shield our eyes from blinding light.

There is no sin so great as those of our own making.

Many trials confront us - but we fight on.

A future that does not belong to us

is handed down from the past.

We will never surrender.

We will not be beaten down.

Together we become a hurricane.

It is the storm of freedom.

It is the storm of truth.

We are children of the everlasting storm.
